
Public Library in city centre, Seville, Spain
The historical city centre of Seville has been rated as the largest in the world, which isn't surprising considering that Seville was once the third biggest city in Europe. A huge area full of monuments and culture, but with a considerable lack of places to study more about it. The city centre has no libraries and the only places to find information about the city are in book shops. This project takes place near to the central street, close to the more ancient area, so the plots differ greatly from each other and are often irregular. The project is placed within a group of ancient houses and the main difficulty was making sunlight reach every nook and cranny of the library. Sections were the number one priority in this project, without forgetting the proportions of the rooms, which had to provide a peaceful environment for study.
