Mobility Exchanger in Wenduine, Belgium.
This project is born from the need of a town to rejuvenate itself. The proposal revolved around the idea of a pedestrianised zone, an area that would just be used for walking and riding bikes or segways. Old streets would be used as public gardens. The Exchanger itself will act both as a place to leave your car before entering the pedestrian zone, but also a leisure zone in its own right, with cafés and book shops for example. The idea of respecting the existing landscape was taken as primary consideration and defined completely the architectural project. The exchanger is a simple tool to take advantage of this newly created area and acts as a completely natural and organic solution.
